Holmes County State Park

Holmes County State Park is centrally located in Mississippi just four miles south of Durant. The park is easily accessible year round using exit 150 off of I-55. Visitors can enjoy the hardwood forest and view the abundance of wildlife that call this park home.
Nature in all its splendor
Holmes County State Park encompasses 537 acres of beautiful hardwood forest that include cottonwoods, oak, hickory, as well as other majestic species. The park is built around two lakes that together occupy 88 acres and are stocked with bass, bream and catfish. There are 4 miles of hiking and nature trails for guests to enjoy, offering several opportunities that are perfect to observe nature.
Activities
A variety of activities are available to park visitors, including boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and an archery range, while rollerblading and rollerskating enthusiasts can enjoy the park’s roller rink. Large play fields and playgrounds beckon children of all ages. There is also a disc golf course, a 50 seat amphitheater available for rent and a camping pavilion that can accommodate groups of up to 100 people.
Spend the night
There are 40 campsites available, 28 serve RV’s with water and electrical hookups and 12 sites for tent campers with water available. A choice of 12 cabins, ranging from rustic to duplex, are available for guests, and advanced reservations are advised. There are amenities available within the park to serve the needs of guests, including a bath house and showers, a comfort station, a dump station, firewood, ice, a laundry facility, a meeting hall, picnic tables and a ranger station.
